At about noon today, WordFence (the plugin I use for site security) emailed me a warning about your plugin:

Subject: [Wordfence Alert] Problems found on XXXXXX.com

This email was sent from your website “XXXXX XXXXXX” by the Wordfence plugin.

Wordfence found the following new issues on “XXXXX XXXXXX”.

Alert generated at Sunday 14th of December 2014 at 07:11:21 AM
    Critical Problems:

    * The Plugin “UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore” needs an upgrade.

    Warnings:

    * Your DNS records have changed

I looked at the plugin modification warnings inside the WordFence control panel and it showed some UpdraftPlus file changes occurred.

I didn’t find any DNS changes made; but there’s obviously an issue somewhere, as I haven’t touched this site in weeks, much less changed the DNS. Hopefully it hasn’t been hacked and is copying/siphoning my site backup files to another location. Could you please look into this ASAP, unless you already know what might be happening? Thanks.

    Hi,

I think you are misinterpreting WordFence there. The two notifications are independent of each other. It is not telling you that they are two descriptions of the same thing – it is telling you that you have two separate issues.

“The Plugin “UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore” needs an upgrade.”

This just means that we made a new release at the end of last week, and you can update to it. Your DNS issue is something else that is not related (and potentially worrying. if you’ve not changed your DNS!).

    Best wishes,
    David
