Getting a @*&#^$% movie to run properly! :(
-
Ok. Just about to thow in the towel. I have researched to death. I have uploaded a .mov and an mp4 file into the WP media library. The .mov is very large (400mb) so that my be an issue (I will compress). But the mp4 is only 5mb. I am having trouble with both. I am using the Vigilance theme.
When I use the Add Video tool to insert the video file into a page, all I get is a link – no video.
I can successfully embed youtube files. I don’t want to do this. I’m looking for an embeded video file directly in WP without using an outside player like youtube so as to avoid any outside logo, and to have more control over the look of the embedded file.
I have tried pluggins to get this to work – several. The only one I’ve had any luck at all with is Bubble-Cast. But it opens my .mov in a frame on the page that contains the Bubble-Cast logo at the bottom, plus its an outside source – files are stored on their server, just like youtube.
It can’t be this difficult! What do I need to do to get a .mov or a .mp4 movie file to simply load with a WP page and play when the user clicks it?
PS: alternatively, would it be better to convert the files to a Flash format? Not sure how much a pain this would be.
Help!
