getting 2 signup confirmations

Like your plugin, but still testing it out and having some issues. I’ve added a emai sign-up box to my buddypress registration page using your plugin, with the sign-up box unchecked. If a new user registers, and DOES NOT check the box, they are still added to my newsletter sign up and sent a registration confirmation.
On the other hand, if a new user decides to check “yes” to the newsletter sign up, then they receive two (2) subscription confirmations. Seems to be a glitch? Can you help with resolving this issue please? website is https://www.bikepirate.com
