Gets you most of the way there

This is a very good plugin that works by updating the .htaccess file with the rules for optimising WP speed. The site owner does however need to check that gzip is installed and configured on Apache (mod_deflate) or if nginx is used then (mod_gzip) needs to be in place.

Speed optimisation cannot be achieved by any single plugin as there are other aspects to consider, but this plugin goes a long way towards getting the basics in place.
