gethostbyaddr() error in general-template.php

    Hello! i have this warning message

    Warning: gethostbyaddr() [function.gethostbyaddr]: Address is not a valid IPv4 or IPv6 address in /xx/xx/public_html/wp-includes/general-template.php on line 192

    is not related to a plug in. It’s from general-template.php.
    And I didn’t make any change to the site in the past 5 days.
    I don’t know how to fix this…
    i’d googled the error and is a new an frequent one… ouch!
    please any one can help?

  • would your host happen to be dreamhost?

    Having the same issue. Just popped up today. Where do you access general-template.php if you don’t have access to the filesystem?

    Hello!
    i’ve resolved it by manually updating WP again. I don’t know if it’s a wp installation problem or an intrusion or… but it’s solved.

    bnosie, if you don’t have access to the filesystem I think you are lost! Sorry.

    emalave – Why DreamHost? If this is something you know about and I can fix, I’d love to know!

    I was able to fix it by simply clicking the Reinstall button on the Updates page.
