GET_RECENT_POSTS does not work

The function GET_RECENT_POSTS does not work properly.
It tries to load all the posts on one page. The function GET_POSTS does work.Can someone explain me what is going wrong and how to fix this issue so the GET_RECENT_POSTS function will work properly?
