• Hi.
I have my menue in the header and in the footer. So the search icon that is shown when you have the menue in the topbar dissaperars. So I have a search widget in my primary sidebar. My problem is that I would (in the mobile device) have a search icon on the opposite side of the menue icon in the top. Now you have to scroll down past 10 blog posts before you can search for something on the site.

Is there a way to fix this?

Anyone who knows how to get the search widget in the top of the mobile devices? It’s really irritating that you have to scroll down past 10 blog posts.

    Hi Ulrica,
    it’s theme concept – 3 menus:
1-#nav-topbar – you don’t have it, but look at demo https://demo.alxmedia.se/hueman – not widget, but search box by default
2-#nav-header – that is what you mention as “menue in the header” – wrong, it is middle menu
3-footer (OK, no need to explain)
The point is that only #nav-topbar (“top-top” menu ) has search box that on lower res. comes to the left and stays there.
Anything below that (middle menu, 2 sidebars) – on lower res. becomes >> or << and needs 1 more click to show.
I was also [Site link removed] a “victim” of designer who made logo and decided “no #nav-topbar” – though I knew I’ll loose that functionality on lower resolutions, but… ??
So, if you need it “really bad” – make #nav-topbar available instead of “middle menu” that is on your website- yes, it changes concept of website etc…
Forcing some new search widget in header – possible – but (my opinion) “theme overload”.
Mobile responsive themes are great & necessity, but always “tricky” – you have to examine carefully behaviour on all resolutions + all devices & OS…no standards yet (recently saw my website on who/knows/where made cell phone…horror)
    Hope this helped.
    Mike
