I want to get rid of the black (dark gray) bar that appears above the banner image. How do I do that?

Do you have a link or screenshot to show what black (dark) bar you are referring to?

I sent a reply email with the screen shot. The site is “under construction” but the URL is appalachianwarmglass.com.
It may be that the image is not tall enough to fill the space but it seems that the black line is there no matter what I do. Thanks.

Where did you send the screenshot?

I sent it as a reply and it went to www.remarpro.com. I bet it did not get to you. Where should I send it?

A total guess, but do you mean the WordPress toolbar at the top of the screen?
Try logging out and see if it goes aways.

    If that’s not it.
You can either delete the <div> in HTML, or hide it via CSS.

It is not the toolbar I have a problem with. I think it is the fact that the image in the banner below the header does not completely fill the space, and the space not covered by the image is black thus causing the black line. I would just make the image larger but the theme crops it down each time. Perhaps there is a specific hieght/width ratio that I need to use.

Can you upload your image to your site and then post the link to your image here? It’s the only method I can think of here….or, if possible, disable the coming soon and let me know here to check out your site…I can wait here for you to do that and once done, I will have a better idea of what you are referring to, and then you can enable the locked site again.

AH…Wait…I think I know what you might be referring to. Your widget has a title correct? This Tutorial might shed some light on this one.

Yes, my widget does have a title it is !Front Page Banner

….but are you using the Remove Widget Titles plugin?
If you are, does your banner have the title showing? Drag your cursor over the black area and see if it gets highlighted. If it does show, what kind of widget are you using to load the banner with?

I just installed the described plugin and the black line went away. I think I saw something, somewhere, about putting the ! before the title but didn’t realize I had to install the plugin. Thanks to everyone who helped.

    You’re very welcome ??
I had a feeling that was it. But, what is important is that you no longer have that showing. That plugin is a very flexible one. I only wish that function was actually built-into WordPress.

    Cheers!
