Get Rid of Site Title and Tagline in Header Section

Hi Erik,
I’m developing things locally. I don’t have a domain or a WordPress installation available online.

I tried looking through the code in the theme’s documentation but I can’t for the life of me find what to take out or add to do what I’m trying to do.

Try hiding the title and tagline with some custom CSS:

.site-title, .site-description {
 visibility: hidden;
}

Using the “visibility” property hides the elements, while keeping intact the space they take up. More:

Don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten whenever the theme is updated.

An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.

As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.
