Get Rid of (Required) beside Required Comment fields?

  • I’m using an * as a label in my comment form to denote a required field and therefore don’t want (required) showing up beside the required form fields.

    Anyone know where to find this in the source (ie. the apporpriate PHP file).

  • in the wp-comments file, just look for the lines that contain <?php if ($req) _e(‘(required)’); ?> and remove them, that php thing, not the entire line…

    Is there a possibility to disable the requiredness of the e-mail address? I have some friends surfing in IE who are annoyed by filling in all details every time. (I know, if they would only browse with firefox)
