Get first post image as thumbnail

  • Great plugin!

    I used this plugin to list posts under certain categories (like below):

    Category1_post1_title
    _____________________
    Category_post2_title
    _____________________
    Category_post3_title
    _____________________

    1)What I’d like to do:
    Display the thumbnail on the top left of the title (like below):

    [First_Image_of_Post] [3 spaces] “Category_post1_title”

    2)My condition:
    I only inserted image to the post and did not set “featured image” in some posts; therefore,
    -for those posts without “featured image”, no thumbnail is displayed;
    -for those with “featured image”, image is displayed underneath the post tile (like below)

    Category_post1_title
    [Featured_Image]
    ____________________
    Category_post2_title
    [Featured_Image]

    …

    How can (1) be done?

    Unfortunately, there is no way within this plugin to do so. There may be another plugin that does that, that might integrate well with the Post Content Shortcodes plugin, but I haven’t done any research into that particular feature. Sorry.
