Get email activation link to allow auto login

Hi team,
Is it possible that when the user clicks on the email-activation-registration link that it signs in the user automatically? That the user does not have to fill in login details again after just registering?

Have read this and will apply it as well, but wish to fast track the login process by using one less step (the login again step)
