German umlauts in names

  • When I try to register a new user with umlauts in his name, e.g. “Br?sel” I receive an error “You must specify letters of the alphabet”. How can I resolve this?

    Hi @lufrutta,

    I’m afraid, WordPress doesn’t allow special characters in the usernames out of the box.
    You can install a plugin which adds this option or adds it using a code.
