German translation – incomplete

    Hi to Austria,
    we are using the Pro version of your plugin and are wondering why the German translation of a plugin from Austria misses lots of translations in the backend and some in the frontend. ??

    1) I’ve suggested lots of translatable missing strings in the “German (formal)” and “German” version. It would be perfect if they’ll find their way in an upcoming update.

    2) The label for the senders mail address sounds odd and could confuse customers: “Ihre E-Mail-Adresse (für den Empfang)”.

    Better would be “Ihre E-Mail-Adresse (als Gutschein-Absender)”, “Mail-Adresse des Gutschein-Absenders” or sth. similar.

    3) While translating (see 1.) I’ve found a typo:
    “This email must be be different from above email.”

    Double “be”. ??

    Conclusion: sure, we could translate this via POEdit, Loco … – but we want to use the plugin more often and it’ll be great if we don’t need to care about translation. ??

    Ah, I’ve forgotten to mention the backend menu – creatively or not translated.
    It’s an adventure to find the searched menu item with these translations, especially when you’re working on more than this. ??

    Maybe you like to use my suggestions for translations and menu item order in an update?

    Thank you for the really nice Plugin. Badly we need also very urgent a good working translation for the “German (formal)” version. Do you have an idea when you will publish the fixed version?

    Thanks for your message. Actually we have some functions remaining to test and complete but if you have translated the plugin using Loco translate then you can use updated plugin to other website. We will try our best to release it soon.

    Hi,

    Solution without any fix update.

    files language are on plugin folder.
    wp-content/plugins/gift-voucher/languages

    you can edit po/mo files of your language with https://poedit.net/
    search wrong string and correct it

    and FTP transfer to folder plugin.
    thats all

    @thomasltn, sure, translating it with poedit is an option – or with the plugin Loco Translate. But if you put your translated file in the plugin folder, it’ll be overwritten by the next plugin update.

    I’ve opened this thread because the description here in the plugin catalogue says “already translated to German”. And even the pro version we’re using isn’t completely translated.

    same thing with FR approximativly translation
