    Hi,
I installed the lite version of your newsletters plugin.
I downloaded the German translation and uploaded to …/wp-content/languages/plugins and also to …/wp-content/plugins/newsletter.lite/languages

in both cases I uploaded both, the po and the mo file
I also tried both, the de_DE and the de_DE_formal file extension

none of the alternatives worked. Do you have any idea why? Would I need the PRO version to get the translation files work?

    Best regards

there is a typo – the directory is not /wp-content/plugins/newsletter.lite/languages, it is /wp-content/plugins/newsletter-lite/languages

Best is to go to wp-content/plugins/ and check what is the folder name of the plugin. If it is newsletters-lite please rename it to wp-mailinglist. Once you’ve done that, go back to the Plugins section in WordPress and reactivate it.

Then go to Newsletters > Configuration > System > WordPress related and check the language settings there. You can choose the 3rd option there and put your language file inside wp-content/languages/plugins/ as wp-mailinglist-de_DE.mo

    Hi,
I renamed the folder to wp-mailingslist. That’s all I needed to do. It’s working fine now.

BTW – under config System WP there is no language setting to check.

    best regards

Great, I’m glad to hear that resolved it.

If you don’t see the language setting, set the configuration mode to advanced. There are 2 buttons Standard (blue) and Advanced (orange). Click the Advanced one.

    Hi thanks,
that helped. I thought advanced would relate to the PRO version.

    Thanks for the great plugin.

You are welcome, enjoy the plugin!

The “Advanced” are just more advanced settings which don’t usually need to be changed by the average user.
