For tonal theme the german translation does not appear, even everything has been correctly set. I do not have translation problems with other themes – only with Tonal Theme.

Hi there, themes must be at least 85% translated for each language to go live – right now the German translation for Tonal is close at 84% as you can see here: https://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/themes/tonal .

If you would like to add some more translations to get it above the 85% threshold so that it can be deployed, that would be great! If you do, let me know when you are done and I’ll see about getting the new strings validated (approved) so it can be deployed.

And actually as an alternative, you can download the less than 85% translation .po and .mo files from glotpress (bottom left here: https://translate.wordpress.com/projects/wpcom/themes/tonal/de/default) and use the .mo file as it is. If you wish to add your own translations and not contribute back to the translation project, you can edit the .po file in a po editor and then export it as a .mo and use that file (you can’t edit the .mo directly).

    Hi,

many thanks for your answers. The translation is fine but the po-File is not recognized by the theme. Even the translation in German does exist, I still have the english expression for e.g. “Edit” In German it is “Bearbeiten”. It is already correctly translated in respective po-File but with no effect on my website. This is what I mean.

    Cheers,

Hi Dirk, could you please make sure that the theme’s language file is named exactly this:

    de_DE.mo

    That’s working, Kathryn,
    thank you!

Great! Sorry the language file wasn’t correctly named by default. We’ll try to get this fixed in a future version of the theme.
