    Hello,

I have set a free shiping option for a specific city (zip code). This option activates when the user introduce their address, but I also want to use the geolocate feature.

However, this feature does not seem to work. I have setup the MaxMind integration step by step, but still.

In the System Status reports it doesn’t appear anything related to this, but in public_html/wp-content/uploads there is a GeoLite2-Country.mmdb file (not City thought).

    Can you help?
    Thanks.

  • Hey there,

That’s a great idea. The Max/Mind geolocation isn’t specific enough to get down to city detail. It’s pretty good at being able to tell which country a user is in but doesn’t provide much detail beyond that.

I’m not aware of a way to use geolocation to preselect the free shipping option if it’s available. Most of the geolocation plugins out there are for restricting content based on location and not specifically shipping options.

If you can’t find a plugin that will do this for you, you could have a solution custom-coded. There are developers at Codeable who would be happy to make this fo you.

    Hi @3sonsdevelopment,

Thanks for your response. I thought the geolocation feature worked for city-level detection, but I see it is not.

In that case I think it’s enough that the free shipping activates when entering the address.

    Thank you!
