Hi, I want to use the Geolocate (with page caching support) feature in Default customer address, but I want it to be active only in products that belong to certain categories. How should I do this?

Even if only caching support can be activated in products belonging to certain categories, it will solve my problem

  • Hi @mohammadnrhi

    Thanks for reaching out!

Unfortunately, the Geolocate feature in WooCommerce is a global setting and cannot be enabled or disabled for specific product categories. It applies to all products on your site once it’s activated.

However, you can consider using a third-party plugin that offers this kind of functionality.

    Hope this helps!

1- Can you recommend a plugin that does this?

2- Also, if Geolocate (with page caching support) is enabled, something like ?v=1a6sfd1w6a54 will be added to the url of each page, even to other internal pages that are linked, such as menus…
Doesn’t this cause a problem for the site’s SEO?

    Hi there

I do not currently have a plugin to recommend but you can search in the www.remarpro.com plugin repository. Most likely this is something to build with custom code, and you could hire a developer if you’re not comfortable with coding.

Also, if?Geolocate (with page caching support)?is enabled, something like ?v=1a6sfd1w6a54 will be added to the url of each page, even to other internal pages that are linked, such as menus…

As for your concern about SEO regarding the string similar to “?v=1a6sfd1w6a54” appended to the URL, it’s important to note that major search engines like Google have become quite adept at handling URLs with those parameters. Google, for instance, has stated that they treat these parameters as a single page, which means that having such parameters should not negatively affect your site’s SEO rankings.

    Hope this addresses your concern.

    Best regards,
