PS: We have deactivated all plugins and the error continues so it’s not a conflict there. Not sure what else to check.

It’s almost like some of the code is still looking for a Google API even though we are using the Open Layers as the map engine instead. Is that it?

    UPDATE!!!
So at first I tried the Open Layers maps which should not require a Google API right? I kept getting the Geocoding errors. SO just as a test I switched to Google Maps instead and got a test API for Javascript Maps and Geocoding and BOOM the plugin works. So it’s not a conflict on my site.

So do I just misunderstand that using Open Layers still requires a Google API or is there something in your code that you aren’t aware of that is still using Google API for Open Layers maps?

    Hi there

    Thank you for your feedback.

When you select OpenLayers, a service called Nominatim is used to geocode addresses.

Unfortunately, Nominatim does not recognise anywhere near as many addresses as Google Maps.

We’ve found in testing that it usually works for street addresses, but if you’re trying to put in, for example, the name of a business, Nominatim will almost certainly fail and return “Zero Results”.

If you weren’t given a “Zero Results” prompt or some kind of meaningful message, I’d be interested in getting an example address off you so we can make that clearer.

    Kind regards

Wrote to Dylan a few times. It doesn’t work with any address.

The only way we can add a marker is to enable a Google API for maps and geocoding. Then it works fine. When we disable the API we can no longer add a marker.

Also, we still can’t edit a marker once added. Clicking the pencil icon does nothing.

    Hi there

We released a number of patches in the week, may I firstly ask that you update and then try again?

Failing that, could you please open a support ticket at https://www.wpgmaps.com/contact-us including temporary login details for the site?

    Kind regards

    I get this…

WP Google Maps Pro: The Gold-addon is not compatible with OpenLayers. We are working to implement full capacity as soon as possible. Please switch to the Google Maps engine under Maps → Settings to use the Gold add-on.

Our Gold plugin is Version 4.03

    Hi there

This is the support forum for the plugin WP Google Maps, we cannot offer you help for the add-ons through this channel.

Can you please open a ticket stating the problem?

If you include “FAO Perry” in the opening line, the staff will assign that to me.

    I hope that helps?

    Kind regards
    – Perry
