• I am trying to set up a form that uses geo-gating to redirect users outside of a 75 km radius from a specific location. I have found a bunch of geo plugins but most work by city, country or postal code.

Does anyone know of a plugin or a method that could be used to set up a radius of kms or miles?

Also is geo-gating a wise choice? I feel most people block GPS from their browsers. Does anyone have any stats on percentage of users who allow gps in their browsers vs how many people block it?

  • Also remember that GPS Will only work for mobiles. That’s great if that’s all that’s visting your site, but I’m here on a desktop, so there’s no GPS available. The closest thing that you could get would be an IP address, and I’ve seen those be anywhere from “not that very accurate” to “that’s in a completely different country!”.

What you’re doing is OK, but you’ll never get the accuracy that you’re looking for without using an app that had access to a real GPS signal. Sure, you can come sort of close, but it will nver be accurate.
