• I went to Appearance/Themes, clicked on Add New/Upload Theme/Choose File and located genesis.zip and clicked Install Now.

Genesis did install. I went to the Themes page and found it there.

    So far, so good.

Now I want to add a style.css file. So I opened my ftp program and went to /wp-content/Themes. But Genesis is not in the folder.

How do I find it? What happened? What should I do?

  • I’m sorry but as you appear to be using a commercial theme, you need to seek support from the theme’s developer/vendor. We do not have access to, nor do we support, commercial products here.
    Try https://www.studiopress.com/support

I downloaded a different theme and the same thing happened. This is not a problem related to a specific theme. This is a wordpress problem. Please help.

No one else amongst WordPress’ 25 million users currently has this issue but you. So it seems to be specific to your site. Can you replicate the problem using the default Twenty Fourteen theme with all plugins deactivated?

The only way to replicate this problem would be to install a theme that does not already reside on my site. Since I already have the default themes that were installed when I installed WordPress, can you suggest a theme that would meet this criteria?
