Generic posts created instead of custom posts

  • Hi,

    I recently discovered about 15 form submissions that were mistakenly created as generic posts rather than my custom post type. They ranged in submission date from 6/19/15 to 10/1/15. During that time I also received a couple hundred form submissions that were properly handled. Many on the same days as the failed ones.

    Any idea what could have caused this? I’m not really sure where to look.

    I don’t have any ideas off-hand; however, the first step for any such issues is attempting to recreate.

    1. If you look at the incorrectly assigned posts, do you notice any differences between them and the correctly assigned posts?
    2. Is it possible that someone who had access to the admin temporarily disabled the plugin?
    3. Have you seen any other issues with this since October 1st?
