Generate WebP Files for Already Optimised Images

    Hello,

    it seems that on my website it only serves files as WebP when they required optimization. Files that are tagged with “already optimised” still get served as JPG.

    Once I convert them manually with another online converter and upload the WebP files into the upload folder, everything works as it should.

    WebP files also need to get generated when the image itself doesn’t need to be optimised.

    Sorry about the issue.

    Unfortunately, at this moment it is not possible to create WebP version without optimizing the original image, as you mentioned.

    We will do our best to improve this for the future.

    I’m having the same issue.

    I’d like to switch. But my images are already optimized via Kraken so WebP images aren’t created.

    WebP is your USP, so creating a WebP Bulk action for already optimized images is important.

    I’m sure many others are in the same, (very streamlined, already optimized), boat : )
