Generate allowed list entries stayed after unticking

    This is kinda weird. After last error where the reason was
    Japan: 60.240.26.26
    but that ip address is not japan

    I was exploring settings further. Decided to tick “generate allowed list”.
    Then did diagnostics using 60.240.26.26 and the email address
    “weverydayl@..” all passed.
    Then I changed my mind, unticked generate and saved and redid diagnsotics. It still said
    chkgenallowlist : Generated Allow List: 60.240.26.26

    went back to settings, resaved, repeated. same thing. Then I tried on another install (same host account) which does not have “generate allow list” ticked. It also passed that ip address: chkgenallowlist : Generated Allow List: 60.240.26.26. So I’m inclined to think there is a bug?

    The ip address is not in manual “allow lists” of either install.

    Let me know if there is any thing else I can check.

  • Diagnostics checks all of the checks. It does not pay attention to the what is checked or not. I is used to show what checks will catch the test ip.

    The generated allow list is a list of Internet service providers such as Verizon or AT&T, which sometimes send out spam, but they are good at blocking the spammers quickly. You don’t want to block them, even if there is spam once in a while.
