General Usage Help

Is there somewhere I can go like the WP codex to see general usage of this plugin? I think that it will suit my needs perfectly but I’m having trouble even getting started. I’ve read through the description page on this site and the readme file but I’m a little daft when it comes to “just input the shortcode…” Where am I putting this? How can I modify it? Some examples would be nice. Thanks in advance.
