    Hi,
I am looking into creating my own theme. I have basic css and html knowledge and in the past only worked with child themes, but I would really like to write my own css and functions now since most themes add so many unneeded features which bloat up the site. So I am wondering if your theme would work for my needs:
    – My site needs to be woocoommerce compatible.
    – I don’t have knowledge in PHP, I just want to modify css and add functions
    – if I change css and other templates or head.php for example, what will happen if I update? Since I don’t want to create another childtheme for speed purposes, how can you safely update? Or do you never update when you use starter themes?

Thank you so much for your help!

If you want to be able to update Quark, then I would recommend using a child theme.

Well, what would you recommend? Do you need to update?

I would recommend using a child theme. This way you can update the theme easily. Updating will mean that you’ll be able to get any new features or bug fixes that I release. As with all software, it’s a good idea to keep things up to date
