    Hi there,

I am hoping you can help me with a query about widgets and visibility.

I use a plugin called filter everything which uses a widget within the side bar with internal settings allowing me to create a filter and specify which page I want it to display on.

However, some pages have a small number of products and do not require a filter but because I have a widget within my side bar it causes a large amount of white space to appear on the left hand side. I think it also causes a little buffer on the left hand side when viewing on mobile.

Would your plugin be able to restrict this visibility for individual pages and bring my mobile back to normal?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @mmk175

Thanks for your interest with Widget Options. With Widget Options pages visibility issue, you can customize which Widget to show/hide in a specific pages, post types and taxonomies. You may refer to our feature page for more information. You may also refer to https://widget-options.com/knowledge-base/woocommerce-product-category/

    Hi @mej

Thanks for getting back to me.

Do you know is this just hides the widget or will the side bar also be removed?

A blank side bar seems to be the issue I am having because I am adding widgets elsewhere.

    Kind Regards

    Hi @mmk175,

Widget Options hides only the widget and the sidebar remains. I would suggest disabling the sidebar. Most of the theme has setting to enable/disable sidebar.

    Hi @mej

Thanks for clarifying that for me. Wouldn’t hiding the widgets leave a large blank space on the left/right hand side of the desktop views then?

Maybe I am unaware of a way to use widgets where this wouldn’t happen. I know some widgets can be added onto individual pages via short code but that would make the job of including the widget a little bigger in some cases and possibly still unsightly.

Just firing this over to you in case you know of a better way to use use widgets.

    Hi @mmk175 ,

Ideally, there should be no large blank spaces if the sidebar is disabled. When the sidebar is enabled, its appearance depends on how your widgets are set up. Most of the website owner enabled sidebar to showcase a block or widget and that is where Widget Options plugin comes in, to customize and add logical conditions when to show/hide a certain widget or block.

I have here a guide about sidebar. I hope this article helps you become more familiar with using and customizing sidebars.

    Hi @mej

    Thanks for this.

I need a filter for some of my pages.

Since it has to go in the sidebar this means pages that do not require a filter/widget end up with this big space.

All I have found out so far is that I either need custom code in a child theme (which themes don’t like) or a plugin, which doesn’t seems to exist.

I think I will just have to bite the bullet and stick a custom filter/widget on all pages to get rid of my blank space issue.

Thanks very much for your time and effort so far. Your plugin does seem to be very good.
