• Hi, i recently moved my site thedigitallifeshow.co to a new hosting environment. Since then i have problems with my media library cant upload files, my widgets dont work at all, the capcha, askimet, etc…

I’ve probably neglected to change one little config somewhere (have updated wp-config, htaccess and db permissions… i think), but been pulling my hair out trying to find out what i’ve missed. the front end is ok, and i can post (and work with the site manually) but it seems that all internal WP functionality on the back end is broken.

any clues would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks,

oh yes, these very instructions were my main resource, and were very useful. The site does work from the front end, and i can make new posts and i add images manually,… but still baffled as to why some of the functionality is broken, especially the widgets, media library, etc…. i tried to change themes, but it`s the same with the default theme too…

    thanks for responding…

    Re-check. Especially in wp-admin, Settings/General the URL’s.
    Also check carefully wp-config.php.
Export your database and view it for improper mappings.

thanks for the advice, i have been looking and looking but still cant find the problem (although fixed the media library problem, which was the path setting). And so I’m wondering about the URL settings in Settings/General; i actually have two blogs running on my server, and thedigitallifeshow.com is a sub domain. I have tried to put in the complete path to the directory in WordPress address, but that just crashed the site and i had to go back and change in the DB. But i’m wondering if it might be this setting that’s the problem.

Any ideas ? what would the path look like ? maindomain.com/thedigitallifeshow.com ? (that doesnt look right! but i named my directory thedigitallifeshow.com… maybe i shouldnt have added the .com in the directory name ?)

    thanks, as always!

Re-read what I wrote. You need to Export your database and view it for improper mappings.

i did export my database, into a CVS format and have been perusing it using excel. But there’s a hell of a lot of data in there…

I’m sure there’s a better way to comb through this but i’m not a db specialist. any suggestions here ?

(i still think it may be in the settings… sigh)
