General Options issue

    Greetings,
    I absolutely love this plugin. Finding it was a great find. Thank you for creating it.

    I have an issue in the Ajax Search Lite > General Options section.
    On one of my sites, under the General Options section, It has tabs for “Layout Options” and, “Advanced” features. This site is running v4.11.5

    On a new site, also running v4.11.5, Under the Ajax Search Lite> General Options Section, it does NOT have the tabs for “Layout Options” and, “Advanced” features.

    I checked the configs between both sites and they are exactly the same. I have reinstalled the plugin more than once with the same results. The two tabs are not available.

    Has anyone else had this problem and how did you resolve it?

    Hi,

    It is very likely a 3rd party stylesheet or script issue. Some theme/plugin developers forget to check where to load their plugin assets, and sometimes they are loaded up on the whole administrator area, causing custom styles and scripts to apply where they shouldn’t.

    Make sure to turn off all other plugins and reverting the theme to the default temporarily. At some point the problem should disappear, with that you can reveal the conflicting plugin or theme.

    If this is the issue, then unfortuantely there is not much we can do to prevent it, as the faulty assets are loaded within a different plugin/theme.

    Hello Ernest.
    Thank you for your reply. I did find a plugin that was causing my problems. So, I disabled the plugin, did the search bar changes to my liking and re-enabled the conflicting plugin. Everything worked out in the end.
