    Hi

I have a subsite (subsite.mydomein.com) and that’s why the webmaster from the main site (mydomein.com) doesn’t want to give a @subsite.mydomein.com.
So for sending newsletters with Tribulant Newsletters I have a problem. I tried to use [email protected] and replay to [email protected] but mails won’t send. or only six and then I got a error.

So I thought I tried to use the Gmail relay services.

I set everything up for gmail:

    Administrator Email: [email protected]
    From Name: me
    From Address [email protected]
    Read Tracking On
    Click Tracking On
    Mail Type SMTP Server
    SMTP Host Name smtp.gmail.com
    SMTP Port 465
    SMTP Protocol SSL
    SMTP Authentication On
    SMTP Username [email protected]
    SMTP Password Password

I tried different settings with the SMTP port and protocol, but nothing.

Then I tried Gmail SMTP using OAuth Protocol by creating an App and Generate API Keys for Gmail.

So I’m pretty sure I’m missing something, anybody got any ideas???

I will assist you with this.

What is the error you are getting when you try to send using the local mail server? Can you please copy/paste the error here? When sending an email, many hosting providers will not allow a different domain, some require the mailbox to exist and others will require authentication (SMTP).

As for Gmail, do you also get an error? Gmail could be tricky on some hosts because many hosting providers block outgoing PHP socket connections and you may need to ask the hosting provider to open that port and protocol for you for outgoing connections.

When testing the email settings, best is to turn on debugging on the right-hand side under Newsletters > Configuration and then test. That way the box where you test will give you a descriptive error message when the email cannot be sent out.

I look forward to your response.

using the local mail server, don’t remember the error but it was the hosting providers not allowing a different domain. I had that problem before thats why I tried via Gmail.

But I can’t seem to send a test mail via gmail.
