GDPR Sync Issue
-
I recently integrated the MC4wp plugin into my wordpress site and have the settings for GDPR turned off in the plugin but it was turned on in Mailchimp. It seems that when the initial sync took place it forced a message of opt out of email and direct mail into the activity feeds of each customer. Per the guidance from Mailchimp, I turned off the GDPR compliance requirement and tried to resync but the data fields are not updating. The debug logs says the sync is not able run due to an Error in Compliance state. I assume this is the GDPR compliance.
[2020-03-10 06:34:35] ERROR: User Sync > Error subscribing or updating user 4922: Bad Request. Member In Compliance State. jere**@th**********.com is in a compliance state due to unsubscribe, bounce, or compliance review and cannot be subscribed.
Per my conversation with Mailchimp, there is no way to remove these activities from the customer profile.
They’ve instructed me to ask you to help resolve:
“they would be able to resolve the compliance issue and retroactively update or sync your data through their backend.”Is this something you can help with or do you have other thoughts on how to resolve?
Thank you!
