    Hey
with the new GDPR regulations coming in soon, how does this effect sites using the Rating Widget plugin which is collecting IPs of voters?

    thanks

Great question, @divithemeexamples. We are working on GDPR compliance and will be transitioning from IP-based identification to one-way hash function generated IDs (based on the IP), which aren’t considered as personal data by the GDPR. This approach will allow us to provide seamless UX as before.

thanks for the feedback. will this be implemented before 25th may?

on another note “Soon you’ll be able to search for specific ratings by title (and more!).” is this feature ever going to get implemented? it’s been showing this for 1 (or 2?) years now!

@divithemeexamples RatingWidget is already using anonymized IPs, we are no longer storing IP addresses! There are still some cookie-related things we are working on and will be releasing in the next couple of days.
