    Hallo,

I’m contacting you concerning the GDPR compliance of your plugin Phoenix Media Rename..

Could you please let me know if the Plugin collects any personal data (e.g. name, email, IP address)? Can the user opt out?
If you collect date does the data get send to some server outside the WP instance? If it is stored outside of WP where is it stored?
I suppose the plugin doesn’t require a cookie to be set? If so can the cookie be disabled?

I’m looking forward to your answers.
Thank you very much for your help!
    All the best
    Felix

    Hi @facompl,
Phoenix Media Rename doesn’t collect any personal data, it only changes the file names and update the database to update your post so that the link to media files will remain consistent.

No cookie is required for the plugin, except those used by WordPress to authenticate the user and check the capability to access media library, those cookies are managed directly by WordPress and are not accessed by Phoenix Media Rename.

Phoenix Media Rename works only in admin area, the public website doesn’t use the plugin, you can also safely disable or remove the plugin after you have renamed the files.

Let me know if you need some other information.
    C.
