    Hello

    Can you give me any information regarding how Photo Gallery by Supsystic itself will comply with Europe’s upcoming GDPR regulations? For example: Does it send the IP adress of the visitors of my website oder informations about their devices to you? Or does it save this information on my server?

    Regards

    VCR

    Hello, @velocityruhr !
    Thanks for your question. Our plugin doesn’t store any personal data and it doesn’t save any info about IP nor to us, neither to your server.
    Hope this helps!

    but I think that your plugin is doing outgoing connections to following servers:
    font-awesome.css?ver=1.12.0 -> netdna.bootstrapcdn.com
    www-widgetapi.js -> s.ytimg.com
    iframe_api -> https://www.youtube.com

    Is this right? I got this connections only on a page with your gallery.
    These outgoing connectiong will be possibly illegal since 25th of May.

    If they are made from your plugin, what can I do to prevent them?

    Thanks

    Hello, muxipups

    I already contacted our developers to clarify information about that outgoing connections. When I receive an answer, I’ll provide more details about it.

    the fact is, that within EU every outgoing connection has to be actively confirmed by the website visitor. I am website developer and as there are many different views and suggestions about all kind of outgoing connection, i and many other web developers too will remove all plugins that use outgoing connection. for example, I remove all google fonts or install them locally on my server, remove google maps and maps-plugins, all embedded youtube stuff, remove all plugins that use font-awesome or avatars non-locally and many more things. I have been in contact with a lot of plugin developers and a lot of them are killing those outgoing connections as there actually is no other secure way for developers and for website owners within the european union. Today I got an update of advanced booking calendar for example…
    I would be glad if you update your gallery plugin too, as I like it and am using it on some websites…

    THANKS!

    Hi, @muxipups
    We already added your request to our development scope. Mentioned connections will be removed from our plugins soon.
    Regarding youtube connection – looks like your gallery has a video link, that’s why it connects to youtube.

    no, there is no youtube video link within my gallery. That’s strange…
    there are two youtube connections on my website made only on the page which has the gallery:
    <script src=”//www.youtube.com/iframe_api”>
    <script type=”text/javascript” id=”www-widgetapi-script” src=”https://s.ytimg.com/yts/jsbin/www-widgetapi-vflz5iR_Y/www-widgetapi.js&#8221; async=””></script>
    I have no idea what else it could be and there are definitely no video links in my gallery.
    Look here: https://maison-provence-cotedazur.com/unser-ferienhaus/

    I also see those youtube connections on other webpages with your gallery plugin without having stored any youtube videos or youtube links…
    example: https://gartenentwicklung.de/arbeitsweise/

    Hi, @muxipups.

    I contacted our developer regarding this additional information.
    I’ll inform you, when receive some clarifying information.

    We already fixed script, which was connected to youtube, even if video is not presented in gallery. Now it can appear only if you insert a video to gallery, or put a link to Video tab in image settings.

    greaat, thanks. When will the updated version be available for download? And did you remove the font-awesome-connection, too?

    There’re so many fears and rumours, that we write and article with the point of view to the GDPR “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the GDPR” ??
