@crusty450 This is a new one – do you need consent of visitors before they can view your reviews? Is this because some reviews may trigger your visitors and you need their consent to accept responsibility for reading these and the potential mental anguish they could induce?

How does this relate to GDPR (noted in the post title)? GDPR is about handing of user data. If someone leaves a review with Google, they must accept the terms at this point. Google has its own GDPR policy with its user accounts.

Please provide a little more information about what you’d like to happen on your website – perhaps placing the reviews in a hidden element (you can use a pop up plugin) may offer the functionality you’re looking for?

Hi – Yes, i need consent of visitors before they can view our reviews.
In Germany, no external connections are allowed.
Only to my own German server.
    I’m afraid I’ll get a letter from a lawyer.
    My competitors are very toxic.
With Borlabs Cookie i am able to block outgoing Scripts but I couldn’t manage it.
I just wanted to ask if you might have an idea for a solution.
or have i misunderstood the function of the plugin and no connection to google is established?
For example, I also have to block google maps.
    Thank you for your support

@crusty450 I think you’ve misunderstood GDPR. I’d talk with your lawyer first before making these changes. You don’t need to get consent to show people reviews that are loaded within your own website. There are no direct requests to external websites – this is all handled by your web server and not the visitor’s browser.

Google maps is different – this will share user data because it loads from external sources and could use information such as location, IP (to location), connect to a user’s Google account etc. However, this reviews and rating plugin does none of this.
