Gave up, too complicated

  • I went through the settings as instructed but could not figure out how to make the banner appear. Read the documentation and it’s too complex for people like me to understand (something about ‘being sure to replace all {and} tags with [and]’ makes no sense to me). Am now using the GDPR banner that is included with the free Jetpack plugin.

    Replacing the tags meant that {wpgdprc_consents_settings_link}My settings{/wpgdprc_consents_settings_link} (called curly brackets) won’t work but [wpgdprc_consents_settings_link]My settings[/wpgdprc_consents_settings_link] (with square brackets) does. The only difference is the kind of bracket you use. We cannot use the square brackets when explaining what the tag is in our documentation because it would not show you the code but the result.

    Will look into making sure we show the complete tag so nobody has to go through the replace part from now on. Thanks for the tip. ??

    @jrodgersky Made the necessary changes trough a Gutenberg block. This could have been explained simpler by me in the documentation: with [wpgdprc_consents_settings_link]My settings[/wpgdprc_consents_settings_link] you don’t have to replace a thing. ??
