Gateway timeout on import

Hi there.

Due to Siteground’s servers being set to a 30 second timeout time for application responses I’m forced to break up my exported file into several much smaller files for import or the import fails due to a gateway timeout since your plug-in only ‘checks in’ with the server while it’s importing when it updates the percentage bar, apparently, and unless the time between check-ins is short enough, the server times out and the import fails.

I was hoping there was a way to increase the frequency of percentage bar updates or at least set the maximum interval between them to be less than 30 seconds.

I don’t expect a patch or solution from you since this isn’t really a bug per se, but I’m a PHP/JS developer & I was hoping you might be able to at least point me to the area(s) in the code which I’d need to modify to create a solution.
