• Please help, I’ve literally been attempting to figure this out for over a month.

I purchased a domain (www.poetryclub.org) and simple hosting through Gandi over a month or two ago.

I followed every single step to a T in their instructions (https://wiki.gandi.net/en/hosting/tutorials/wordpress/simple), which I had done before with another domain that worked flawlessly immediately, but still nothing.

Every single time, the same message:

“This domain name has been registered with Gandi.net
It is currently being parked by the owner

See the domain’s public registration information”

I have literally deleted and reinstalled the WordPress files at least a dozen times.

Twice, I waited for over a week after doing so, furiously crossing my fingers in hopes of that it was just a time/patience sort of thing. Nothing. Every other time I’ve more or less waited at least a couple or three days.

I have posted in their forums, and I have sent multiple messages to there support staff, but it seems both are figuratively dead.

    I turn to WordPress now.

I am almost pleading for answers.

I’d be monumentally grateful for a solution, for any insights, any guidance.

Thank you for taking the time to read this; and for any response.

This is what my filezilla looks like (only showing the htdocs portion given that that is probably the only relevant aspect):

I’m sorry, that does not seem to be a guide but instead the whois information. Am I missing something (relatively new to using WordPress and creating my own domains, so apologies if I am)?

You have a problem with your host. The link has these suggestions.
1.) Log into your Administration Page to manage your domains.
2.) change the configuration of this domain.

Oh, sorry about that, yes; I see those two links, but both just lead me to my regular Gandi.net ‘my account’ control panel. As far as I know, there aren’t any guides at all.

It’s more or less, again, just a control panel of sorts where you can change options on the domains that you own and simple hosting(s) that is/are active.

No guides though, as far as I can tell. Sorry again if I’m missing something.

(I think the link may be just the Gandi.net version of the whois information because the word ‘whois’ is even included it in; though I may be completely wrong)

I just read somewhere that wordpress 4.2.2 is out? Should I be installing that instead of 4.0? (The Gandi tutorial only talks about the 4.0 one it seems).

Yes, you should be installing 4.2.2 when you get your parked domain removed.

In c-panel you may have a tab for domains and if so under that tab an icon for parked domains. That is where you can remove your parked domain.

If not, contact your host and tell them your problem.

Honestly, not too familiar with the terminology of ‘parked’. It just says ‘Domain names’ and lists my domain name underneath the area where all of the domains I bought are listed.

I think I was looking for a step by step guide on what to do, but it’ll probably next to impossible to get one.

Also, I did try to contact the host, have been attempting for a month but no response.

Anyway, thank you for taking the time to try to help me. I’m just not sure what to do or how to make it work, and what’s most frustrating is that I have done the same exact procedure with another domain I have and it worked out perfectly.

Again, thanks, I’ll just try to mess around from here and hope I get lucky.

Also, I did try to contact the host, have been attempting for a month but no response.

Wow! That is totally unacceptable! Post something here, https://www.facebook.com/GandiBar and try to shame them into supporting you.
