• Hey there,
In nextgen when you go to “manage galleries” there is a place to add a description of the gallery. I added a description and it’s not showing anywhere.
I want the name of the gallery and the description to be above the thumbnails.
My site is not currently online yet but I’m hoping someone can help anyway… thanks!!

  • Do you mean the description on the upper side, or the one on the thumbnails side?

I mean the description on the upper side for the whole gallery, which you can add by going to “manage galleries”, not the descriptions for each thumbnail (those are showing fine).
    ??

That description appear only in album page near the gallery’s thumbnail, not in gallery’s page.
If you want the gallery’s title in gallery’s page you have to link a page to that gallery, so you’ll write there your description and give a title to the page.

I have the same question, and more: when I create a separate page for a gallery, a click from the album to the gallery results in a ‘page not found’.

I have an album ‘prints’, albums A-Z, one for each letter of the alfabet, and one gallery per artist within the relevant album. For now I can click from album to album to gallery, but without any of the extra details such as description or title.

    Example:
    https://armaghpubliclibrary.arm.ac.uk/wp/prints-3 is the startpage.
Click ‘Prints A’ brings your to the gallery list.
Click Angier, Paul brings you to a page not found, where I have set a separate page.
Click Aquila, Pietro brings you to the thumbnail page, where I have not set a separate page.

I am stumped how to get the albums/galleries to work the way I want it, i.e. with the description and title showing for each gallery. Do I need to make separate pages for the albums a-z as well?

    B.t.w. I run WP 3.6.1 and NextGen 2.0.31.
