I am not exactly sure what happened, but my basic thumbnail galleries all turned into single column displays. Viewing the CSS, I see that some elements are missing like float:left; etc. I did not edit the CSS nor did I add new CSS.

    I tried:
    1. Deactivate and reactivate NextGEN, no luck
    2. I downloaded, unzipped the plugin files and uploaded them on top of the existing files and folders, no change

I do have some CSS overrides in a custom CSS file but that has not changed in a long time.

I will appreciate some guidance to bring them back to “normal” behavior. I can add the float rule but I would like to know what broke.

The site is behind CloudFlare, if you happen to get a five-column display of the gallery please force a reload of the page.

    Thanks,

    Cemal

OK, I traced it to Far Future Expiration Plugin. For some reason, when it is enabled, it breaks the gallery as well as the FancyBox lightbox.

I will try to communicate with the Far Future Expiration Plugin developer.

It was specifically the GZIP option that was the problem. I disabled that and all is good in case someone else may run into this issue.
