• Our corporate intranet is on a WP platform. We upload all our policies in PDF format using the Gallery. The Gallery itself doesn’t appear to be sortable alphabetically/numerically. It keeps stacking the list of documents according to the date each document has been uploaded.

I can get it to sort the way I want on the actual WP page, mind you, but not in the Gallery pop-up window.

This becomes really inconvenient when a handful of policies are updated and I have to scroll through a list of 30 documents to find the one I want to delete, because I have NO idea when the last iteration of the document was uploaded.

Being able to sort in another way would save me a ton of time.

You can do this with the Gallery Shortcodes.

    [gallery order="DESC" orderby="title"]

I need the gallery window where I can add and delete files to be in alphabetical order so I don’t have to search through 30 docs to find the one I want to delete. Shortcodes are for pages or widgets, so this doesn’t fix my issue, unfortunately.

Gallery = that which you see on a post or page

Media Library = The list of all your uploaded media. (domain.com/wp-admin/upload.php )

They’re both sortable. Which one are you trying to sort?

    This window: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/rRcVBN7jSwR-C-Z8vsYKL_XPIZ0R6XIBmNANt5EqzF0?feat=directlink

… where you have just clicked on the add media button and have gone to the gallery tab. I have only been able to get this to sort according to the date I uploaded the files.

this would be good to know. (if it’s a database type entry like a table in ‘Access’, I don’t think you can) but I’m sure I’m wrong as usual…

It would be nice to be able to sort it. I’m putting up loads of new pdf documents and having to sort through stacks to 40 – 60 uploads per page to delete the ones which are now outdated.

There is probably an easier way I am just missing. ??

    Hi guys,
Did anyone have an answer to lisa0721 issue?
I am having the same problem with our WP Intranet. I have many PDF forms and policies but have no way of sorting them alphabetically (ascending order)
Any assistance would be appreciated ??

    Will
