    WordPress version: 3.5.1
    Awesome Flickr Gallery version: 3.3.6
Themes tried: Twenty Eleven (included WordPress theme) and Hum
Tried in browsers: Safari, Chrome, Firefox
Samples of error: in the Twenty Eleven theme and in the Hum theme
Live site where you can reproduce the error: https://astrakan.ca/?page_id=2

What happens is this: When I click on a photo in my gallery it opens up fine, but part of the image is covered by the menu and header. This happens whether the menu is at the top or the side.

I discovered this problem when I was using the Hum theme which builds off Twenty Eleven and requires it to run. Thinking it was a Hum issue, I switched to Twenty Eleven and the problem is this still there.

Thanks a lot for any help you can offer. This is a great plugin.

    Another piece of the puzzle:

I don’t know how helpful this will be, but apparently Alpine PhotoTile for Flickr does not have this problem with the header and menu overlapping photos displayed in a shadow box (or maybe it’s called light box…)

Like I said, I don’t know how helpful that is, maybe these plugins are built completely differently and having a look at how Alpine PhotoTile handles shadow boxes won’t be useful at all, but I figure it couldn’t hurt.

I set up a temporary Alpine PhotoTile gallery on my site, so you can compare it with the Awesome Flickr Gallery. The tabs are clearly marked which is which: https://astrakan.ca/?page_id=44

I should also mention that Alpine PhotoTile isn’t as user friendly or as customizeable as Awesome Flickr Gallery, so I’d much rather use Awesome Flickr Gallery. ?? There, I didn’t want this to look like I was pushing that other plugin or something.

I’ve solved it. In the Twenty Eleven theme style.css, under the #branding section, I changed the z-index value from 9999 to 8999.

This was done after the advice I read in these two threads:
