oh, btw – there is another website with the same theme on the same server etc.

    https://home.arcor.de/ex-plosion/nextgallery_view_working_other_website.jpg

there are only 16 pictures – but mainly the same like above.
these are shown in a correct order….strage, isn`t it?

ok, I disabled some pictures and cecked the behaviour. it looks like 2 pictures are “faulty” – I de-activated them – everything was fine, I re-activated them and the line was broken.
then I sorted them to a different position, line was broken at the place those two pictures were placed.

But I have no clue what exaclty is wrong with those pictures!?!?
they have a size of 800 x 531 pix – but there are also some other pictures having the same size like those…

    really strange…huh…

I have the same problem here. I upgraded to 1.8.1 this morning, so figure it has something to do with that. I noticed some references to a 1.8.2 in some threads, but there’s no 1.8.2 available for download at present. It seems there are some problems with it, but I hope this means Alex is on the case and this will be sorted pretty soon! Hope so, anyway ?? .

Check your gallery settings and take fixed column number, this is a layout issue and has is surely not a bug in 1.8.1

    hey alex!

when I take fixed column numers – instead of all my pictures (20) only 12 are shown (2 raws – each 6 pictures like I set up in colums).

so this does not work for me, sadly.

@ robin – what happens if you disable some pictures to find out if there is something with them? for me it worked for testing – but I do not want to leave those pictures out.

btw – same happens also to the standard theme of WP:
Twenty Ten 1.2 von the WordPress team, might be useful to know…

Hi – Yes, that indeed fixed it. Thanks, Alex. Very prompt! Seems odd, though, as it was never a problem before 1.8.1. Now the vertical gaps between images are bigger than the horizontal gaps. It’s not the end of the world, of course, but in an ideal world it would be nice if they could be the same size ??

    @ robin
sorry, its offtopic – but what nice badge do you use for the FOLLOWING items on your page?

@ nucleardirk – No problem, it’s the Share and Follow plugin.

    @ robin – thx!

    back to topic:
I tried different things – all on the basic template – it looks 99% to be caused by some of the pictures and their not common resolution.

in every event – when I set fixed columns – the result is 2 lines a 6 pics (6 I set in the setting) – but the remaining pictures are not displayed. (there should be a third line as there were 18 pictures).

    any idea?

It’s the exact same problem I had, so I’m surprised the same solution doesn’t work for you. Hope Alex can help!

1.8.1 works so much better! Thanks!

BUT, now my images are HUGE and extremely pixellated. Any advice on how to resize the 72 dpi web-ready images?
