Gallery order in album doesn't work

    G’day,

    I will start with the questions, asked in the sticked thread.

    Q: WordPress up to date?
    A: Yes
    Q: NextGEN up to date?
    A: Yes
    Q: What version of NGG did you upgrade from?
    A: From last to current

    Q: MySQL up to date (at least 5.0)?
    A: Yes (5.5.46)
    Q: PHP up to date (at least 5.2.4)?
    A: Yes (5.6)
    Q: The mod_rewrite Apache module activated?
    A: Don’t know. (How to check? What is it?)
    Q: PHP Safe Mode OFF?
    A: Don’t know. (How to check? What is it?)

    Q: Who are you hosted with?
    A: HostEurope
    Q: What theme are you running?
    A: Evolve
    Q: Which plugins do you have installed and activated?
    A: – Akismet
    – All in One SEO Pack
    – Hello Dolly
    – Image Widget
    – Page Builder by SiteOrigin
    – Page Views Count
    – Redux Framework
    – WP Google Maps
    Q: Does this error still occur if you switch your theme to a WordPress Twenty series theme and deactivate all plugins except NextGEN Gallery? (please be sure to clear your browser cache and reload your site after deactivating)
    A: Yes, error still occurs.

    And now here is my error:
    I can’t sort he galleries inside an album. It doesn’t matter what I choose in the “other options” -> “standard sorting” (I tried date/time, ID and costume), the sorting doesn’t work. If I change the sorting in “manage album” the sorting on the page changes but not like I sorted it. It can’t figure out a system, it looks like that the plugin is changing the sorting randomly if I change something in manage album.

    @roadtoparadisede – The best place to sort the galleries in an album is from within the IGW (“green button”) in the TinyMCE editor’s visual tab when you insert the album into the post/page … just scroll down to the Sort / Exclude accordion panel in the IGW modal window and sort the galleries there.

    Thanks for this try. Very close but didn’t worked.

    I build up the following system:

    1. Level -> Album (Generell Photo-Album)
    2. Level -> Album 1 (Includes Galleries about a specific topic)
    -> Album 2 (Includes Galleries about a specific topic)
    -> Album 3 (Includes Galleries about a specific topic)
    -> Album 4 (Includes Galleries about a specific topic)
    3. Level -> Galleries
    4. Level -> Pictures

    If I try to sort the galleries like you told me, I can sort the Albums in Level 2 but not the Galleries in Level 3. I think this construction is necessery bacause I created a WordPress-Page including the 1. Level Album so that the Page showes the Level 2 Albums in a kind of gallery. (Follow this Link to see what I mean)

    Any Ideas how to solve my problem or maybe there is a better system so organise my galleries so that I can use your fix?

    @roadtoparadisede – The sorting methods only affect the immediately display, but you should be able to sort the specific deeper tiers of the hierarchy under the appropriate Manage Albums / Manage Galleries menu items under the main Gallery menu item as needed.

    Just remember to clear the image cache under Gallery > Other Options > Miscellaneous as well as any other caches that may be related to the site (including your browser) … you might also test with an anonymous browser window as well, just in case.

    Hey there,

    its me again.
    Thank you for your help but it doesnt work.
    I cleared the cache and tried with a different browser to be sure but the sorting is still a mess.

    In “manage albums” i sorted the albums like:
    ID: 8
    ID: 9
    ID: 10
    ID: 11
    ID: 14
    ID: 18
    ID: 19
    ID: 20

    But if you open the Album its sorted like:
    ID: 18
    ID: 19
    ID: 20
    ID: 14
    ID: 11
    ID: 10
    ID: 9
    ID: 8

    I dont understand whats wrong.
    I chossed under “other options” the sorting “costume”.
    Any ideas?

    @roadtoparadisede – If you are trying to re-sort an already displayed album you will need to re-sort that specific displayed album itself. Once a display has been inserted via the IGW (“green button”) in the TinyMCE editor’s visual tab then almost any changes you make elsewhere will not affect that specific display.

    Hey,

    I’m not sure if I understand you the right way.
    Thats means I have to insert the album again into the page before my changes will work?
    But if I change something in the sorting of the album it affects the displayed album immediatly but the sorting in the dislayed album is not the sorting in my settings. The sorting in the displayed album looks very randomly.

    Its me again.

    I solved my problem and like it happens so often, the problem was in front of the computer again.
    I didn’t understand this system completly.
    After sorting as “costum” in the settings of this display everything is fine.
