Gallery Order

Howdy.
I have a number of pages with dozens of gallery items (mostly MP3s, some images) each. Typically, I’ll upload a batch of files (30+), then order then by clicking “order by: descending” and then “Save all changes”. Other times I have ordered by drag-and-drop and experienced the same issues, which are as follows:

Now, sometimes this works half-way. What I mean by that is the files will appear in the gallery thickbox in the right order, but the “order” numerical textareas will show them with only single digits, for example “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 1…” In addition, sometimes the order will go all out of whack, like
19 18 17 16 15 14 13 12 11 10 01 29 28 27 26 25 24 23 22 21 20 02, etc.

I’m using a plugin called “faster insert” which puts the gallery in the editor widgets and adds batch insertion, but I had this problem even before using that plugin.

Any suggestions?
