• Using the gallery tool that comes with WordPress and this theme, I upload new images to the page gallery often.

By default the images display with the newest image on the bottom. I used short code (order="desc" orderby="post-date") to have the images display newest at the top, however, when I add new images to the gallery, the short code resets and the newest images are back at the bottom.

Is there a way to make the newest images display at the top by default without having to edit the short code every time?
    Thanks!

  • Not that I am aware. It has to do with how wordpress rebuilds the gallery shortcode when you edit/add to or change the gallery through the visual editor. There is the “reverse order” button you can click once which will arrange the post around but that will mean when you add new images you would have to manually drag to the top.
