Gallery Images Not Displaying with WordPress 5.5

  • Hello, I have several gallery/portfolio sections set up on my website – homepage (under Telling Stories header), about page at bottom, and in all of my Gallery pages. Once WordPress updated to 5.5, I lost them all.

    Any help would be appreciative.

  • Hello, same problem here!
    All hero images and slider images disappeared in the 3 websites I just updated to wp 5.5
    All plugins ara up to date, I also deactiveted all plugins to check if there was a conflict.
    The problem is still there. I have more websites but I’m not going to update any more!
    Please help!

    Hi,

    I have checked the console logs and warning messages. It seems to be issues with the WP core jQuery scripts. It returns the following error message

    Error : Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘msie’ of undefined

    You can download the latest version of jquery , upload it into the wp-includes directory and then check it up.

    @phptechie It is not recommended that you update to the latest version of jQuery in that manner. WordPress runs the 1.12.x version of jQuery and the latest is 3.x. This will likely cause more issues, and the change will be overwritten when the next version of WordPress is released.

    @jaydhcameron and @susanna961 can you also try activating this plugin to see if it helps with your issues?

    The plugin Enable-Jquery.migrate-helper solved the problem in two websites but not in another one.
    I have more websites in wp but I think I’ll better wait to update to 5.5

    ‘enable-jquery-migrate-helper’ – this plugin solves the problem of images disappearing after updating to WP 5.5.

    Activating the jquery plugin mentioned above worked wonders. All good. Thanks for the advice!

    My issues is 1 gallery is not showing the images when you click on the individual images and another is showing the images but both of them don’t get back to the gallery page when you close the gallery. Just shows a black page with the gallery cross at the bottom left: my test page: https://www.eurobodallaphotographicclub.org/test-gallery/

    It has only happened on this website running on WP Twenty Eleven. All plugins are up to date as well as WP (5.6). I tried installing the plugin mentioned above but sadly it didn’t help.

    Same issues here.
