Gallery Image Caption hyperlink and lightbox

I am using the caption on each image to provide a link to download the high resolution version of that image. ie some text with a hyperlink to the high res file.
I would like if at all possible for this to still work even when using your lightbox option(configuration settings).
There are two problems at the moment:
1. The lightbox becomes active where-ever you click on an image – including on the caption text. The link in the caption text can therefore no longer be used.
2. When the image opens in the lightbox the caption is there OK, which is good, but it is no longer a hyperlink…just text.
If point 2 was relatively simple to solve then point 1 matters less as the site visitor could download from the lightbox and I could just hide the caption on the image itself.
