Gallery Difficulties
-
Hello Kyle,
Thanks so much for creating and supporting this wonderful plugin and for your recent assistance on a previous topic!
I’m writing today, as I’m attempting to implement the use of this plugin on a client site, where there are four videos the client wishes to embed in a section of their homepage and have the videos autoplay one after another.
When using the gallery option, I am seeing that the playlist/autoplay function is working correctly, but the gallery shortcode isn’t behaving the way I believe it’s supposed to and I’m finding it quite difficult to get the gallery thumbnails and “play” button overlay to display neatly on the page.
Here is the shortcode I’m using:
[KGVID gallery=”true” gallery_end=”next” gallery_thumb=”350″][/KGVID]
As you can see, I’ve enabled the gallery, have told the gallery to play the next video attached to the page, and have specified a thumbnail width of 350px.
The first two items in the shortcode are working properly, but the “gallery_thumb” option doesn’t seem to be affecting the embedded videos/thumbnails.
Also, we like the idea of the video.js “play” button overlaying the video, but it isn’t centered on the videos/thumbnails.
Here is the page where the gallery is embedded:
(scroll down / search for “HALF THE WATER – TWICE THE PLANT” and look left)
You can also see the “global” settings we’ve set for the plugin in a screenshot, here:

These issues take place for me when using Chrome v57.0.2987.133 (64-bit) and Firefox 52.0.2 (64-bit), both for Mac OS 10.11.6.
I’ve also tested this using the newest version of Chrome for iOS and the videos/thumbnails behave similarly, in that they’re much larger than desired and appear cut-off on the right side, with the “play” button overlay not aligning neatly.
All of the videos were created using FCPX (H.264 w/AAC audio) and then converted using Handbrake (H.264, “web optimized”) at a resolution of 1280 x 720 px.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide, Kyle!
