• Hello @wprsupport,

I am using Ashe theme and my website is photography centric.

Now i would want to showcase a gallery of my photos on a page https://www.whattapic.com/photo-gallery/.

As you can see I am using Block editor to display Gallery Block and have added a few pictures to test. However, I would want to show the thumbnails on this page and when individual photograph is clicked, I would want it to display in full(that particular image Only)

Is there an inbuilt capability in the theme that i can use or could you suggest a way around it?

    Appreciate your prompt reply please.

    Thanks/Manish

  • Hello @mb299 ,

Thank you for reaching out with your question about creating a photography gallery on your Ashe theme website.

While the Ashe theme provides a clean and elegant design, it doesn’t have built-in advanced gallery features for displaying individual images in full when clicked. However, you can achieve your desired gallery functionality with the help of a WordPress gallery plugin.

One popular plugin that can help you create a gallery with the features you described is the “Envira Gallery” plugin. Here’s how you can use it:

    1. Install and Activate the Envira Gallery Plugin:
    • From your WordPress dashboard, go to “Plugins” > “Add New.”
    • Search for “Envira Gallery” and install the plugin.
    • Activate it.
    1. Create a New Gallery:
    • In your WordPress dashboard, you’ll now have an “Envira Gallery” menu item. Click on it.
    • Create a new gallery and give it a title, such as “Photography Gallery.”
    1. Add Images to Your Gallery:
    • Upload and add your photos to the gallery. You can organize them into albums if needed.
    1. Configure Gallery Settings:
    • Configure the gallery settings as per your preferences. Ensure that you enable the lightbox option, which allows individual images to be displayed in full when clicked.
    1. Publish Your Gallery:
    • After configuring the gallery settings, publish your gallery.
    1. Display the Gallery on Your Page:
    • Create or edit the page where you want to showcase your gallery (in your case, the “Photo Gallery” page).
    • Add the gallery to the page using the Envira Gallery block. The specific steps may vary depending on the block editor you’re using.
    1. Update Your Page:
    • Save or update your page.

Once you’ve completed these steps, your gallery on the “Photo Gallery” page should display thumbnails of your photos, and when a user clicks on an image, it will open in full in a lightbox.

Please note that there are several other gallery plugins available for WordPress, so you can explore options and choose the one that best suits your needs. Additionally, the specific steps for configuring and adding galleries may vary slightly depending on the plugin you choose.

I hope this helps you achieve the photography gallery you envision for your website. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to ask.

    Best regards

    Hello @wprsupport,

Thank you for the detailed explanation. It helps.

However, i have another question related to “Posts Page” within the theme.

I have setup a Blog Page and wrote a temporary content( just a few lines to Test) and it’s set as “Posts Page” under Appearance>Customise>Homepage Settings.

And it’s not displaying “Nothing Found” with a search Bar when it’s Published.

Please have a look at the URL https://www.whattapic.com/blog/

How do I set this up?

    Thanks/Manish
